7 Deadly Sins, 7 Heavenly Virtues.

The Book of Proverbs (RSVCE, NRSVCE, NIV, NIV by Dramatized)

01 (Text, Audio) Warnings against Evil companions.

Word of God: 15 my child, do not walk in their way; keep your foot from their paths, 16 for their feet run to evil, and they hurry to shed blood. (Proverbs 1: 15-16)

02 (Text, Audio) Value of Wisdom.

Word of God: My child, if you accept my words and treasure up my commandments within you, 2 making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding, (Proverbs 2: 1-2)

03 (Text, Audio) Trust.

Word of God: 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight. 6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. (Proverbs 3: 5-6)

04  (Text, Audio) Bread of Wickedness and Wine of Violence.

Word of God: 15 Avoid it; do not go on it; turn away from it and pass on. 16 For they cannot sleep unless they have done wrong; they are robbed of sleep unless they have made someone stumble. 17 For they eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence. (Proverbs 4: 15-17)

05 (Text, Audio) Eyes of the Lord.

Word of God: 21 For human ways are under the eyes of the Lord, and he examines all their paths. 22 The iniquities of the wicked ensnare them, and they are caught in the coils of their sin. 23 They die for lack of discipline, and because of their great folly they are lost. (Proverbs 5: 21-23) See Sirach 23:19. Sexual sins will destroy a person’s life, happiness, wellbeing, health and mental abilities!

06 (Text, Audio) Six Things that the Lord Hates.

Word of God: 16 There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: 17 haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that hurry to run to evil, 19 a lying witness who testifies falsely, and one who sows discord in a family. (Proverbs 6: 16-19)

07 (Text, Audio) The apple of your eye.

Word of God: My child, keep my words and store up my commandments with you; 2 keep my commandments and live; keep my teachings as the apple of your eye (Proverbs 7: 1-2)

08 (Text, Audio) Those who find Me find life.

Word of God: 34 Happy is the one who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting beside my doors. 35 For whoever finds me finds life and obtains favor from the Lord, 36 but those who miss me injure themselves; all who hate me love death.” (Proverbs 8: 34-36)

09 (Text, Audio) Bread eaten in secret is pleasant.

Word of God: 16 “You who are simple, turn in here!” And to those without sense she says, 17 “Stolen water is sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.” 18 But they do not know that the dead are there, that her guests are in the depths of Sheol. (Proverbs 9: 16-18)

10 (Text, Audio) The mouth of the Righteous bring forth Wisdom.

Word of God: 31 The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom, but the perverse tongue will be cut off. 32 The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, but the mouth of the wicked what is perverse. (Proverbs 10: 31-32)

11 (Text, Audio) Pride comes then comes Disgrace.

Word of God: 1 false balance is an abomination to the Lord, but an accurate weight is his delight. 2 When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but wisdom is with the humble. (Proverbs 11: 1-2)

12 ( Text, Audio, 29 November 2022) Anxiety weighs down the human heart.

Word of God: 25 Anxiety weighs down the human heart, but a good word cheers it up. 26 The righteous are released from misfortune, but the way of the wicked leads them astray. (Proverbs 12: 25-26)

10 The righteous care for the needs of their animals, but the kindest acts of the wicked are cruel. (Proverbs 12:10)

So avoid the wicked as you can’t expect any good from them even you have done your best to help them, as they can ONLY do you harm!

13 (Text, Audio) Those who open wide their lips come to Ruin.

Word of God: 2 From the fruit of their words good persons eat good things, but the desire of the treacherous is for wrongdoing. 3 Those who guard their mouths preserve their lives; those who open wide their lips come to ruin. (Proverbs 13: 2-3)

14 (Text, Audio. 1 December 2022) One who is quick-tempered acts foolishly.

Word of God: 15 The simple believe everything, but the clever consider their steps. 16 The wise are cautious and turn away from evil, but the fool throws off restraint and is careless. 17 One who is quick-tempered acts foolishly, and the schemer is hated. (Proverbs 14: 15-17)

15 (Text, Audio. 2 December 2022) Better is a dinner of vegetables where love is than a fatted ox and hatred with it.

Word of God: 15 All the days of the poor are hard, but a cheerful heart has a continual feast. 16 Better is a little with the fear of the Lord than great treasure and trouble with it. 17 Better is a dinner of vegetables where love is than a fatted ox and hatred with it. (Proverbs 15: 15-17)

Having a cheerful heart is only possible when I love & honour God & He gives me His Joy & Peace.

16 (Text, Audio. 3 December 2022) He causes even their Enemies to be at peace with them.

Word of God: 6 By loyalty and faithfulness iniquity is atoned for, and by the fear of the Lord one avoids evil. 7 When the ways of people please the Lord, he causes even their enemies to be at peace with them. 8 Better is a little with righteousness than large income with injustice. (Proverbs 16: 6-8)

17 (Text, Audio. 4 December 2022) A Cheerful Heart is a good medicine.

Word of God: 22 A cheerful heart is a good medicine, but a downcast spirit dries up the bones. 23 The wicked accept a concealed bribe to pervert the ways of justice. (Proverbs 17: 22-23) See John 15:4-5.

18 (Text, Audio. 5 December 2022) True Friend stick closer than one’s nearest Kin.

Word of God: 23 The poor use entreaties, but the rich answer roughly. 24 Some friends play at friendship, but a true friend sticks closer than one’s sibling. (Proverbs 18: 23-24)

19 (Text, Audio. 6 December 2022) Wealth brings many Friends but the Poor are left Friendless.

Word of God: 2 Desire without knowledge is not good, and one who moves too hurriedly misses the way. 3 One’s own folly leads to ruin, yet the heart rages against the Lord. 4 Wealth brings many friends, but the poor are left friendless. (Proverbs 19: 2-4)

20 (Text, Audio. 7 December 2022) A gossip reveals secret.

Word of God: 17 Bread gained by deceit is sweet, but afterward the mouth will be full of gravel. 18 Plans are established by taking advice; wage war by following wise guidance. 19 A gossip reveals secrets; therefore do not associate with a babbler. (Proverbs 20: 17-19)

21 (Text, Audio. 8 December 2022) Whoever loves Pleasure will suffer.

Word of God: 17 Whoever loves pleasure will suffer want; whoever loves wine and oil will not be rich. 18 The wicked is a ransom for the righteous and the faithless for the upright. (Proverbs 21: 17-18)

22 (Text, Audio. 9 December 2022) The Clever see danger and hide.

Word of God: 3 The clever see danger and hide, but the simple go on and suffer for it. 4 The reward for humility and fear of the Lord is riches and honour and life. (Proverbs 22: 3-4)

People and situations that are troubling you? If you do not react they are helpless, don’t think they are powerful. They are completely helpless & they can’t do anything to you. The moment you react, you become powerless & they are powerful. Look at what Saint Paul said to the Romans 12:21. Having this wisdom of not reacting so that they are powerless and you can work peacefully. I just keep moving to do good works so that no evil can touch me!

Do not fear! Read Isaiah 41.

23 (Text, Audio. 10 December 2022) My Child, give me your Heart.

Word of God: 24 The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice; he who fathers a wise son will be glad in him. 25 Let your father and mother be glad; let her who bore you rejoice. 26 My child, give me your heart, and let your eyes observe my ways. (Proverbs 23: 24-26 )

I can only receive Wisdom with a willing heart, when I open my heart and mind to God, my Creator, Father and Saviour. When I have God’s Wisdom, my eyes and eternal senses will connect to God, follow His Statutes & the eternal things beneficial to my salvation.

24 (Text, Audio. 11 December 2022) Partiality in Judging is NOT good.

Word of God: 23 These also are sayings of the wise: Partiality in judging is not good. 24 Whoever says to the wicked, “You are innocent,” will be cursed by peoples, abhorred by nations, (Proverbs 24: 23-24 )

25 (Text, Audio. 12 December 2022) Like a city whose walls are broken through is a person who lacks self-control.

Word of God: 26 Like a muddied spring or a polluted fountain are the righteous who give way before the wicked. 27 It is not good to eat much honey or to seek honor on top of honour. 28 Like a city breached, without walls, is one who lacks self-control. (Proverbs 25: 26-28)

A city without walls is the end of that city! Self-control is one of the fruit of the Holy Spirit. What we are controlling? Our impulses, emotions, feelings, thoughts & desires. If we are able to control them, then we can attain the higher goals of our personal life. We are not stopping our own growth, but we are allowing ourselves to flourish with long-term goals, happiness in our personal lives. If I have self-control, I am building a protective wall around myself. If not, I will end up being destroyed due to lack of self-control.

Deliverance from Fear -> Read Isaiah 41 (audio).

When pride comes, then comes disgrace; but with the humble is wisdom. (Proverbs 11:2)

26 (Text, Audio. 13 December 2022) Flattering mouth works Ruin.

Word of God: 27 Whoever digs a pit will fall into it, and a stone will come back on the one who starts it rolling. 28 A lying tongue hates its victims, and a flattering mouth works ruin. (Proverbs 26: 27-28)

A wicked person normally has these 2 characteristics: lying tongue and flattering mouth. In the end, this person becomes the victim of them. Let’s give sincere talk and be life-giving.

27 (Text, Audio. 14 December 2022) Let Another praise you. Do not be boastful.

Word of God: 1 Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring. 2 Let another praise you and not your own mouth, a stranger and not your own lips. 3 A stone is heavy, and sand is weighty, but a fool’s provocation is heavier than both. (Proverbs 27: 1-3)

13 Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a town and spend a year there, doing business and making money.” 14 Yet you do not even know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. 15 Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wishes, we will live and do this or that.” 16 As it is, you boast in your arrogance; all such boasting is evil.  (James 4:13-16)

It’s good that I keep silent and let others speak of me based on my hard work and the good fruit that I produce in Christ.

28 (Text, Audio. 15 December 2022) One who confesses will obtain Mercy.

Word of God: 12 When the righteous triumph, there is great glory, but when the wicked prevail, people go into hiding. 13 No one who conceals transgressions will prosper, but one who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy. (Proverbs 28: 12-13)

A Righteous person lives with another Righteous will have joy and graces showering on them, but a wicked person lives with another wicked, they will hate each other and will not survive, because Evil won’t survive together, they always fight, NO unity & NO happiness. Thus, it is good to repent, go for a good confession and receive God’s mercy.

29 (Text, Audio. 16 December 2022) If a ruler listens to falsehood, all his officials will be wicked.

Word of God: 11 A fool gives full vent to anger, but the wise quietly holds it back. 12 If a ruler listens to falsehood, all his officials will be wicked. 13 The poor and the oppressor have this in common: the Lord gives light to the eyes of both. (Proverbs 29: 11-13)

Pay NO attention  to lies, gossip & Do Not entertain people who always speak ill of others. Because everyone is NOT real, everyone plays their secret games & you do not know how things will reveal it. Thus it is good only to connect with Good and Genuine People & listens to them only. Don’t go along with Wicked People. Remember that if you allow trash to enter you, you can only produce trash! If I listen to gossips & lies, I can’t do justice...

30 (Text, Audio. 17 December 2022) Respect for Parents. The eye that mocks a father...

Word of God: 17 The eye that mocks a father and scorns to obey a mother will be pecked out by the ravens of the valley and eaten by the vultures. (Proverbs 30: 17)

31 (Text, Audio. 18 December 2022) Speak out for those who cannot speak.

Word of God: 8 Speak out for those who cannot speak, for the rights of all the destitute. 9 Speak out; judge righteously; defend the rights of the poor and needy. (Proverbs 31: 8-9)

When you speak out for those who cannot speak and defend the rights of the poor and needy, God will reward you generously.

The Book of Ecclesiastes (RSVCE, NRSVCE, NIV, NIV by Dramatized)

01 (Text, Audio. 19 December 2022) Vanity of Vanities.

Word of God: 1 The words of the Teacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem. 2 Vanity of vanities, says the Teacher, vanity of vanities! All is vanity. (Ecclesiastes 1: 1-2)

All things are wearisome, more than one can say. The eye never has enough of seeing, nor the ear its fill of hearing. (Ecclesiastes 1:8)

If I do not live my life focus on the Eternity, focus on God, everything is futile and vanity! One thing is permanent: it is God and His Eternal Word.

02 (Text, Audio. 20 December 2022) There was nothing to be gained under the sun.

Word of God: 10 Whatever my eyes desired I did not keep from them; I kept my heart from no pleasure, for my heart found pleasure from all my toil, and this was my reward from all my toil. 11 Then I considered all that my hands had done and the toil I had spent in doing it, and again, all was vanity and a chasing after wind, and there was nothing to be gained under the sun. (Ecclesiastes 2: 10-11)

The futility of self-indulgence! Many People had been searching Pleasures through their eyes, following the inclinations of their hearts and ended up sad! I can enjoy and chase after real Pleasures only when I have a focus of God in my heart! It is stupid to chase after anything and eventually ending up sad and knowing you have wasted your time and efforts! If I have been faithful to my vocation with what God wants of me, then I can have happiness and joy! When God is my focus, using my heart and mind for the right thing, I am going to find meaning in everything. Take Jesus seriously then whatever I do will bring me Joy, being fruitful and completing all the responsibilities of the day.

03 (Text, Audio. 21 December 2022) Everything has its time.

Word of God: For everything there is a season and a time for every matter under heaven: 2 a time to be born and a time to die; a time to plant and a time to pluck up what is planted; 3 a time to kill and a time to heal; a time to break down and a time to build up; (Ecclesiastes 3: 1-3)

We are limited & restricted People in this planet; limited in time & restricted in space. Distress, Disturbances, Frustrations, Irritations are parts of our lives in this Planet, are we still keep going? If you want to do good, follow Jesus Christ, expect Persecutions and Temptations in this Planet! If you are sad today, it’s not permanent, you are going to have joy tomorrow, because everything has its time.

04 (Text, Audio. 22 December 2022) An Unhappy Business

Word of God: 5 Fools fold their hands and consume their own flesh. 6 Better is a handful with quiet than two handfuls with toil and a chasing after wind. 7 Again, I saw vanity under the sun: 8 the case of solitary individuals, without sons or brothers; yet there is no end to all their toil, and their eyes are never satisfied with riches. “For whom am I toiling,” they ask, “and depriving myself of pleasure?” This also is vanity and an unhappy business. (Ecclesiastes 4: 5-8)

05 (Text, Audio. 23 December 2022) The Lover of Money

Word of God: 10 The lover of money will not be satisfied with money, nor the lover of wealth with gain. This also is vanity. 11 When goods increase, those who eat them increase, and what gain has their owner but to see them with his eyes? 12 Sweet is the sleep of a labourer, whether he eats little or much; but the surfeit of the rich will not let him sleep. (Ecclesiastes 5: 10-11)

Those who love money will end up in disaster in your personal life. You love money but money doesn’t love you back! If you always give people only money, you can’t satisfy them. Let us focus on God...

06 (Text, Audio. 24 December 2022) The more words, the more vanity

Word of God: 10 Whatever has come to be has already been named, and it is known what humans are and that they are not able to dispute with those who are stronger. 11 The more words, the more vanity, so how is one the better? (Ecclesiastes 6: 10-11)

The frustrations of our desire! If we are unable to connect to God, we cannot find fulfilment & happiness anywhere. Need to think before speaking with others; speak to the point and only the necessary only. So it is better to have self-control over our mouths and our tongues for better life and better conversation.

07 (Text, Audio. 25 December 2022) God made human beings straightforward

Word of God: 29 See, this alone I found, that God made human beings straightforward, but they have devised many schemes. (Ecclesiastes 7: 29)

One’s wickedness, misusing his brains to devise wicked schemes, leading himself in problems & chaos are self-inflicted and not created by God! God loves those who are straight forward...

08 (Text, Audio. 26 December 2022) Whoever obeys a command will meet no harm.

Word of God: 5 Whoever obeys a command will meet no harm, and the wise mind will know the time and way. 6 For every matter has its time and way, although the troubles of mortals lie heavy upon them. (Ecclesiastes 8:5-6)

If I want to be happy in life, obey God the Universal King, the king on earth, respect & honour Him. If I want to a full fledged child of God, I must obey His commandments, i.e. the 10 Commandments. If I diligently obey the 10 Commandments, NO harm will come upon me & I can be happy because I obey the Commandments of God. People can make laws to make their lives easier and safer, but I can NEVER be safe until I obey God and follow His 10 Commandments & honour Him.

09 (Text, Audio. 27 December 2022) Let your garments always be white.

Word of God: Go, eat your bread with enjoyment, and drink your wine with a merry heart; for God has long ago approved what you do. Let your garments always be white; do not let oil be lacking on your head. (Ecclesiastes 9: 7-8)

Take life as it comes. God knows me through and through, so be faithful to Him and just do my responsibility and offer to Him even it is not excellent. “White garment” means sincerity and purity of life.

10 (Text, Audio. 28 December 2022) Words spoken by the Wise bring Favour.

Word of God: 11 If the snake bites before it is charmed, there is no advantage in a charmer. 12 Words spoken by the wise bring them favor, but the lips of fools consume them. 13 The words of their mouths begin in foolishness, and their talk ends in wicked madness (Ecclesiastes 10: 11-13)

If we know of people who speaks well just to the point and no extra, no abusive words, then they must have trained for it and have watched over their tongues & lips diligently.

11 (Text, Audio. 29 December 2022) Rejoice young people.

Word of God: 9 Rejoice, young man, while you are young, and let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth. Follow the inclination of your heart and the desire of your eyes, but know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment. 10 Banish anxiety from your mind, and put away pain from your body; for youth and the dawn of life are vanity. (Ecclesiastes 11: 9-10)

Young People, you rejoice but take note of these 2 things to be wise: 1. Do not follow the inclinations of your heart, then you will not end up in trouble. 2. Do not follow the desires of your eyes: Envy, Jealousy and Pornography and other sins all coming from the eyes. We can cheat many other people, but God knows these and we can’t hide these from God.

12 (Text, Audio. 30 December 2022) For God will bring every deed into Judgement.

Word of God: 13 The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God, and keep His commandments, for that is the whole duty of everyone. 14 For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil. (Ecclesiastes 12: 13-14)

Because our God is a Just God and He rewards based on our deeds. One who commits sin against another, repents and goes confession will be forgiven, but he needs to bear the consequences of his wrong doings regarding evil thoughts, words and deeds or actions even his sins have been forgiven. We know how to treat other people well, why can’t we treat ourselves better by having good thoughts, words and deeds to improve ourselves & our destiny?  A wicked Person will be punished by his own evil thoughts, words, desires and actions which is self-inflicted!

Song of Songs (RSVCE, NRSVCE, NIV, NIV by Dramatized)

01 (Text, Audio. 31 December 2022) For Your Love is better than wine.

Word of God: 1 The Song of Songs, which is Solomon’s. Colloquy of the Young Woman and Friends 2 Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth! For your love is better than wine (Solomon 1: 1-2)

Compare this with the Betrayal Kiss of Judas Iscariot against Jesus, the sinner Mary who kissed the feet of our Blessed Lord with complete surrender and compassion. The whole Book talks about commitment in a relationship (heart-to-heart, soul-to-soul, body-to-body relationship between married couples). God’s love is better than all other love for you and me.

02 (Text, Audio. 1 January 2023) Arise, My Love, My Fair One.

Word of God: 12 The flowers appear on the earth; the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land. 13 The fig tree puts forth its figs, and the vines are in blossom; they give forth fragrance. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away. (Solomon 2: 12-13)

I want to be with God 24/7 so that He can give me personal tuition. I want to give thanks and praise to Him for All the Blessings He showered on me.

03 (Text, Audio. 3 January 2023) I seek Him whom my soul loves.

Word of God: 1 Upon my bed at night I sought him whom my soul loves; I sought him but found him not; I called him, but he gave no answer. 2 “I will rise now and go about the city, in the streets and in the squares; I will seek him whom my soul loves.” I sought him but found him not. (Solomon 3: 1-2)

See Hebrews 13:4. People should keep their marriage bed pure and undefiled.

04 (Text, Audio. 4 January 2023) How beautiful you are, My Love.

Word of God: 1 How beautiful you are, my love, how very beautiful! Your eyes are doves behind your veil. Your hair is like a flock of goats, moving down the slopes of Gilead. (Solomon 4: 1)

Acknowledge your love ones for his/her physical appearance and character. You need to express your love as without any expression, this is not an active one. Just look at  Jesus Christ on the Cross as He expressed His Love for the Church. For couples, love is only possible with mutual respect.

05 (Text, Audio. 5 January 2023) My Love, My Perfect One.

Word of God: 2 I was sleeping, but my heart was awake. The sound of my beloved knocking! “Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my perfect one, for my head is wet with dew, my locks with the drops of the night.” (Solomon 5: 2)

Within us there is a search for Perfect Love and we can only find this in God who is All Perfect in virtues and Love.

06 (Text, Audio. 9 January 2023) My Beloved is Mine.

Word of God: 2 My beloved has gone down to his garden, to the beds of spices, to pasture his flock in the gardens and to gather lilies. 3 I am my beloved’s, and my beloved is mine; he pastures his flock among the lilies. (Solomon 6: 2-3)

When there is no sacrifice in a relationship, it is impossible to have a good one.

07 (Text, Audio. 10 January 2023) How Fair and Pleasant You Are.

Word of God: 5 Your head crowns you like Carmel, and your flowing locks are like purple; a king is held captive in the tresses. 6 How fair and pleasant you are, O loved one, delectable maiden! (Solomon 7: 5-6)

See Isaiah 62:5.

Only God will love and treat me fairly. I can be pleasant only in the presence of God. I am wonder, beloved and always loved by my God.

08 (Text, Audio. 11 January 2023) For Love is strong as death.

Word of God: 6 Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm, for love is strong as death, passion fierce as the grave. Its flashes are flashes of fire, a raging flame. 7 Many waters cannot quench love, neither can floods drown it. If one offered for love all the wealth of one’s house, it would be utterly scorned. (Solomon 8: 6-7)

Seal means “Security, Belonging, Permanent”. God’s love is unconditional, forgiving, very slow in getting angry, His mercy never comes to an end, beyond our understanding and human comprehension. God’s love is the only medicine that completes me & for my eternal good.
