Stress Relief for Caregivers: Uploaded on 8 September 2023 to  11 April 2024:

Many will agree that the most stressful part in caring for a Dementia Patient is making the Patient cooperates and agrees to do what you ask of him/her for his/her own good. You may be a professional working remotely to care for the Patient by overseeing that the Helper is doing what’s needed and essential; or you may have been handling most of the caring work yourself as no suitable Helper has been found, trust us, if you can successfully care for the Patient at home, you will definitely be able to succeed in handling the stress in the Corporate World, as good caring of a Dementia Patient is at least twice more challenging  than that. What is your reward? You will look like God as His “true” child and be rewarded hugely by Him who is the Perfect Love (cf. 1 John 4:7-12), knowing that the ONLY Thing that we can bring along with us when we die to enter Eternal Life is LOVE and only LOVE (cf. 1 Corinthians 13)!

Say this Novena for Worry and Stress Relief (which we have uploaded in Reference on 22 October 2023):

A Prayer of Servant of God Fr. Dolindo Ruotolo: Jesus, You Take Over (webpage)- Great prayer against worry and stress! THE SURRENDER NOVENA.

Talk by Fr. Jim Blount S.O.L.T., on the MOST POWERFUL NOVENA - SURRENDER NOVENA

THE SURRENDER NOVENA - A POWERFUL PRAYER - Fr. Jim Blount S.O.L.T.

Be Happy always when your effort has somehow lengthen the life and improve the well-being of the Patient for “every single day”, because we know this shall be your GLORY which we recognise and definitely will make you become “Love” like your Creator and Daddy God for Him to WELCOME you warmly you into His Eternal Kingdom when your time is up! Caring for a Dementia Patient is definitely Beneficial to your Soul and your Eternal Life! But remember to seek help when you find it unmanageable, as we want to see you fully-alive too! We will pray for you!

Now we want to share with you some useful tips in “handling” the Patient that have proven to lower the stress level of the Caregiver. Strive in All Ways to reach an “amicable settlement” with the Patient (just like in any Commercial dealings) at ALL Times, so that the Patient’s condition can improve (and you can lower your stress level), after all, he/she may not remember what he/she has agreed to. Avoid giving long-winded reasoning and explanation; you are wasting your time as the Patient will never listen when he/she is in a “demented state”. You can only do so when he/she is “conscious”:

My demented elderly father’s dementia has shown much improvement after I follow what you have suggested on “exercise, music, pray, attending Mass Online daily and receiving Holy Communion frequently”. He suddenly became violent, throwing drinks (milk too), glass containers on the floor and my Living Room was shattered with GLASS Fragments. Due to the chaotic situation and the things that he frequently throws around, it’s really unsafe for him! I am exhausted and I don’t know if I should still keep on nursing him at home…

We can only share with you a real case that looks similar to yours:

On 17 April 2024,  this Caregiver informed the Patient that she would be away for around 1 hour to buy his favourite food and the Patient did seemed to understand & appeared peaceful before she left (the Precious Blood of Jesus Prayer on YouTube were played continuously to invoke God’s Blessings on him) . The Patient had received Holy Communion at around 6:30 am that morning. When she came back, she was shocked to see that the Living Room was shattered with GLASS Fragments; his drinks were thrown on the floor and various items in the house were damaged. She prayed for God’s advice, and she was instructed to send the Patient to Hospital. She called “995” and when the Paramedics came, the Patient remained violent and uncooperative, they measured his temperature 37.7 °C and advised that the Patient should be sent to the Hospital for a thorough check-up even his symptoms appeared “minor”. Thank God that he was sent to the Hospital A, he was diagnosed with severe Urinary Tract Infection and later he also contracted Pneumonia and he was then treated  and discharged on 26 April 2024. His behaviour remained violent throughout his entire stay in Hospital A: Throwing drinks and food, punching, hitting, biting, cursing, kicking and pulling the hair of whoever attended to him to make him clean (after passing urine and motion)… A total disaster and some nurses also got physically injured. We just wondered where he got his strength as he refused many meals…

The Patient was then sent to Hospital B to treat his “mental” problem… The Psychiatrist who has always attended to him could not be contacted so the Hospital Psychiatrist Team advised that the Patient should be given 0.2 mg of Risperidone when he became violent again. The Patient was given this Antipsychotic Drug on 4 May 2024 morning and there is no major improvement seen so the Family members decided to trust in God’s healing and the Patient was discharged on 4 May 2024 evening. They prayed the “Precious blood of Jesus” prayer and the Patient is seen to have marked improvement as he stopped to be violent when the Caregiver (also Family member) tried to clean him… God’s way always works even there could be a delay…

The Patient has always been on Rivastigmine Patch and you can see the case study & findings of this same Patient at the bottom of this page…

With this, we were made to understand that many times God can let a situation end up like a total disaster to happen in order to catch our attention to prevent a greater evil… If this Patient had not been sent to the Hospital for treatment, he could be dead now as no one in the Family could know that he was seriously sick… Thank God that he was being treated and his demented condition has also improved... Thank You Lord

The Patient is seriously sick and you need to send him to the Hospital to be treated for his illness (not Dementia as it has been declared by all Doctors that Dementia is INCURABLE), this is what you need to look out for:

Even you have informed the Doctors/Nurses in writing FORMALLY NOT to give any Anti-Psychotic Drug to the Patient as you will help and have helped to care for the Patient round the clock, some of them will still secretly do so! How will you know? The Patient suddenly became erratic, out of control and refused to sleep, causing huge destruction in the Hospital Ward, which these Wicked Doctors/Nurses asked for it by giving him just 6.25mg of Quetiapine at around  2:50am! Which Hospital? The very beautiful and airy one nearest to Jurong East MRT Station, Westgate & JEM! In the end the condition the Patient was worse than he was admitted!

How the matter was being exposed? The Family Member & also Caregiver prayed the Precious Blood of Jesus Prayer for the Patient (which always works) for hours (500 times by Fr Jim Blount) but the Patient was still not able to calm down! The Patient was then sent to another Public Hospital to repair the damage!

What to do next? Play the Psalm 91 (audio) round the clock (in songs: Chinese, English, English, English, English) by looping it even the Patient is sleeping to remind him and yourself that you are not in any “hopeless or desperate” situation but God is in control and He is embracing both of you and everything will turn into GOOD for the Patient, yourself & God’s Kingdom (cf. Romans 8:28). Try this and you will see that the Patient will be able to sleep peacefully! With God All Things are POSSIBLE (cf. Matthew 19:26) and He is NEVER Late! 8-)

I am distressed! The Patient has just admitted to a Public Hospital A&E (a Private Hospital will do the same) and I can’t stop them from tying him (restraining him) to make the Patient cooperate! Last round these Medical Doctors/ Nurses ganged up and tied the Patient like a “gift box” and his mental condition upon discharge was worse than he was admitted!

Forgive us for being blunt, those Doctors/Nurses who can just do that to make the Patient cooperate are PLAIN ST*PID! Can you trust any Medical Professional who is unable to handle a Dementia Patient to give him proper treatment? Your smart brains will tell you the answer!

The Simple Solution to this: Just put the Patient on a comfortable Geriatric Chair with a Table mounting with it (give at least 10cm of space to his stomach) to stop him from climbing out. You don’t even need to put on any safety belt as the Table will do the work! What you should do now:

Step 1: Upon arriving A&E, you write a note and give it to the Admission Counter telling these Doctors/Nurses NOT TO RESTRAIN the Patient or feed him any mood medications/antipsychotic drugs as you will be at the Visitor Lounge round the clock to rush in and help if the Patient refuses to cooperate! Tell the Counter Staff to scan your note into their System so everyone who treats the Patient will get to see this! Once you can get in and help, the Patient can be safe!
Step 2: Repeat Step 1 when the Patient needs to be admitted to a Ward, install yourself or another reliable Caregiver to watch over the Patient round the clock to ensure the same. Try to feed the Medications yourself as the Nurses may just give up on the Patient who refuses to cooperate. You make sure that the Patient eats his meals by buying his favourite food if needed.

Step 3: Borrow a Geriatric Recliner Chair from the Ward so that you can rest and sleep on it while caring for the Patient round the clock… We have done this and it is a workable solution! Pray always… The HOLY SPIRIT will sustain you throughout and both the Patient and you will be well upon his discharge… 8-)

The Patient says that he has been hearing voices and sometimes (or many times) these voices have been accusing, blaming, cursing him & making him feels “small” (cf. Revelation  12:10).

The Doctors may diagnose such Patient as “Schizophrenia”, “Bipolar” or anything they name it. Many Christian Exorcists will tell you that in any form of mental illness,  there is likely a certain degree (whether great or small) of evil spiritual attack especially when God is not deep rooted in the Patient.

If the Patient has not started on any medication to treat the symptoms, you may do what our buddies have done for their Patients at home, these are the Effective-fixes by God with absolutely NO adverse side effects: When the Patient is not interacting with anyone or sleeping, always keep the ears of the Patient busy by letting him watch videos, listen to music (even for Patients who refuses to do anything right now): Watch or Listen to Mass Online Playlist, the Unity Prayer (audio, audio) and the Precious Blood Prayer  (500 times), Praise and Worship (English, Mandarin) Playlist, Rosary (English, Mandarin), Divine Mercy (English, Mandarin), with other Relaxing Music or Happy Music. Our Lord Jesus Christ who loves the Patient more than anyone; will let the Patient  be soaked completely in Him and chase out all evil voices/forces away from him. Try this, it always work!

The Patient even in a better mood will turn wherever he goes into a mess, the rate he is messing things is much faster than I am able to organise or pack them in proper order, and I find myself helpless and completely exhausted!

Thanks for not giving up! Many have chosen to care for their Dementia Family Members not because they can’t afford to, as they may always apply for some kind of Government subsidy or ???? to put them in a Nursing Home (when you don’t see their mess = Distress FREE) but they want the best for the Patient as any of them who becomes “naughty” in a Nursing Home may end up being fed with Antipsychotic Drugs and may make him die early… Whatever you are facing is not “abnormal”, it is a “new normal” you just need to adjust to... 8-) Tell yourself that it is okay to be messy as you have struggled to ensure that the Patient is improving and you have kept him clean and healthy even what’s around him is not ideal. In all these struggles and mess, Christ has chosen to stay close to us to support us to persevere! You are doing the “impossible” with His Grace upholding you! Think of how the Almighty God Christ had chosen to be born in a “stinky, dirty, ugly” stable, sleeping on the Manger where animals feed, your place for the Patient is at least 100 times better than that and you can be so sure that Christ is with us in the midst of all these “physical” mess (cf. Mathew 28:20) but NOT “spiritual” mess… 8-D

Don’t worry, you will see that the Patient’s improvements in his organising skills soon when he eats his food in an organised manner, that will be a sign of Healing from Jesus and He is NEVER late!

I brought the Patient out the whole day to eat, walk around (exercise), be happy and prayed that his condition will improve. He was indeed happy when he was outside but the moment he reached home, he became “abnormal” again, being violent and throwing things! His Doctor has been informed but he didn’t know why! This happens almost every time after I brought the Patient out over the years! I am exhausted and feel completely defeated!

This is what some our Buddies have experienced too when they work from home to take care of the Patient who has Dementia (besides having other critical medical conditions) to keep him fully alive! So you are not alone and you must remind yourself that as a Child of God, you can NEVER be defeated as your Daddy God is the ONLY One who has created the entire Universe and He will NEVER let you down! This is the Solution they use and it always works: Say the Unity Prayer (audioaudio) to blind Satan and all the evil spirits so they can’t trouble you. Then you say the  and the Precious Blood Prayer  (“Most Precious Blood of Jesus Christ, save us and the whole world.” 500 times audio, loop it from YouTube so it can help you pray round the clock if necessary). Note that such incidents are likely of the spiritual nature as “our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” (cf. Ephesians 6:12) but we always WIN as the Lord will fight for us; we need only to be still (cf. Exodus 14:14) and the size of Angelic Forces (lead by St Michael) engage in our battles is at least DOUBLE of theirs! The Patient will be well soon!

You have tried whatever we have presented in our webpages but the Patient still seems to be under some kind of spiritual attack on and off and behaves “abnormally”? Even many of us have been practising Catholics/ Christians for many years, but none of us can be 100% sure that Ancestral Curses or other Family Curses are not the cause of this. Watch this video “33:10 PRAYER TO BREAK FAMILY CURSES -FR JIM BLOUNT” and say the Prayer for 144 days, we know of many have tried this and it has started to work on the 2nd or 3rd day. Those who say this prayer for others will experience “electricity” running through their bodies… Holy Spirit anointing you! Many of us say this Prayer many times a day for others in order to experience “fresh” anointing! 8-)

The Patient has multiple critical illnesses but refuses to take Medications, he is driving me nuts! Based on many Caregivers’ input, the willingness to take Medication is an indication of the severity of the Patients’ Dementia. Don’t worry, the Patient’s response will improve over time if you just let the Patient watch Mass Online Daily for a period of time and let the Patient receive Holy Communion Daily (applicable for Catholics only). For a start, you may refer to the tips stated in our updates on 3 May to 20 June 2022.

If the Patient is sick and hospitalized, try not to discharge the Patient if the Patient is on “Antibiotic” (only discharge after the Patient has completed the entire course  as prescribed by the Doctor), it is probable that the Patient will refuse when it is time to take any Medication as any bacterial infection will cause the Dementia worse (as many have witnessed), making the Patient more unlikely to cooperate with you, and the Patient may need to take the Antibiotic via IV! We suggest you find time to care for the Patient (as many of us have done so) or find someone you can trust to do that round the clock. During this period, the Patient (who is more sick than usual) can become most uncooperative, climbing out of bed and throwing things etc. making the Medical Staffs really mad, you should be the one to calm the Patient down and you will learn to sleep on the Geriatric Chair (if tired) to cope with the Patient to prevent any Medical Staff finding ways to restrain the Patient making the Dementia worse. Don’t worry, after you have tried this once, you will have no problem next round as your stamina will have built up, strengthening you in such a way that you can just sit on any chair to rest and fall asleep (if needed) to charge up again to continue to care for the Patient the next day as you have been strengthen by the Holy Spirit. 8-)

The Patient refuses to eat and drink! It’s driving me crazy! Before we decide if the Patient really refuses to eat, we may just want to study on his/her eating and drinking habits. Many Dementia Patents we know take a long time to finish their food and drink, for many of them, these could be the timing: Breakfast  (6:30am-12:00 noon), Lunch (2pm to 6pm), Dinner (7:30pm-12:00 midnight). To reduce your stress level, it may be better to prepare the Patient’s Food in a “bento” when you can just heat up slightly (1-2 minutes at Microwave 300 or “medium low”) when the food turns cold. Prepare in small portions and pack it in a nice/cute manner, so you know we always buy instead of preparing the Food ourselves, as the Patient may never eat if we repeat the same dishes. The chefs from the Food Courts or Hawker Centres normally know what we need when we tell them we are feeding the Patients, they will likely help to cut the sugar, salt and oil contents. We want to thank them for being helpful here.

To improve the cognition and memory functions of the Patient, you may want to bring the Patient out once a day (if possible) to eat out. To have some friendly interactions with People especially children will definitely improve the appetite of any person including Patients. You will use this opportunity to make the Patient walk more (as a form of exercise) and it is also going to improve the Brain functions as the Patient needs to decide what he/she is going to hold on and step on to be safe… 8-)

When the Patient is “at the moment of” having Sundowning syndrome or ???, starting to become unreasonable, throwing things (?), being violent (?): you quickly keep away those things that he will likely throw, to prevent him suffering self-harm and/or huge financial damage, then you start to pray the Unity Prayer continuously, you will see the Patient calms down in less than 15 to 30 minutes. The one who prays for the Patient will experience “union” with Jesus Christ like you have stepped into Paradise with Him… 8-)

When the Patient says “I want to go home” and you have discovered that the “home” that the Patient refers to is the house he/she has sold long time back and it does not refer to the house that he/she is living in, how? Nowhere to go back to! Regardless of this, stay calm and say “Yes” to the Patient. You tell the Patient kindly that you will bring him/her back home after he/she has taken his/her food and medications (to ensure that he/she is well fed and not sick), you may bring the Patient to a Food Court near the “home” that he/she refers to, after the meal, explain to him/her the that “house” had been sold and now that the money had been used to buy the “house” that he/she is living now!

When the Patient says “I want to use the Toilet” but you have brought him/her to the Toilet less than 5 minutes ago. “Strive” not to argue with the Patient or give him/her any reasoning, you are wasting your time and it is unlikely that the Patient will “agree” with you. Say something like this: “Someone is using the Toilet” or “the Cleaner is washing the Toilet and is working hard as so many have been using the Toilet and it is now so dirty, I will bring you back to the Toilet when the washing is done” etc…

When the Patient says “I want to find my children” but you know that he/she has always been “Single”, try to find whom these “children” he/she refers to. They may be his/her Nephews/Nieces who had frequent dealings with the Patient in the past. Ask the Patient if he/she wants to meet them and arrange for a meetup accordingly. If the Patient says “No”, this is likely to mean that these “children” had been giving him/her distress in the past and he/she would prefer not to see them. It reminded us of what our Buddy said: “The best way to make a person remembers you is either to become his/her source of headache/distress or to be his/her Angel”. Let’s strive to become the latter to deliver God’s source of Joy, Peace, Love and Healing to those around us! 8-D

When the Patient tells you in the Middle of the Night he/she wants you to go “???” with him/her (due to Sundowning??), but you know this is not urgent or the Patient has become unreasonable, please DO NOT say “no” to the Patient directly, instead you give excuses such as “you have asked the Security Guard to find a Taxi and they will inform you when the Taxi is available (applicable only if you are not driving). Please find your own excuses if you are driving 8-D. When things really get out of hand, call out “Jesus, save us”! You may want to let the Patient receive Holy Communion (applicable only if the Patient is a “Catholic”) and let our Lord Jesus solve the problem and thanking  Him for healing the Patient but you have not seen the “Breakthrough”. After you have done whatever you can for the Patient, you “switch-off” ALL and start your Praise & Worship to God and Focus on Jesus ONLY - that’s how you can stay strong & afloat like Peter, in ALL Trials and Tribulations (cf. Matthew 14:25-33). Lord Jesus, please take over in our desperation and let us see your Glory to save us.  Many Thanks.

Find out if the Dementia suffered by the Patient is actually PseudodementiaWe are living in an imperfect world and we know many People are living in homes that are actually “unsafe”. Starting from Genesis that Cain had murdered his brother Abel (cf. Genesis 4:1-16), you see the high priest Simon and his family being murdered by his son-in-law Ptolemy  (cf. 1 Maccabees 16:11-17), the Prophet Isaiah (Father-in-law of king Hezekiah) being killed by his grandson king Manassehand the Faithful Warrior Uriah the Hittite of king David being killed by David as David had committed Adultery with Uriah’s wife Bathsheba and found he was unable to cover up his sins (cf. 2 Samuel 11)... Recent cases: The youngest Sister of an Elderly Lady tried to invade into her house (both of them are Catholics), Catholic Priests working hard to block their Sick Benefactor from receiving Holy Communion frequently... The List are endless and we must admit many Catholics are among them and have acted in the most abominable way to cause harm to their fellow Catholics…. For some of the Patients, their greatest enemies could be their family members, “friends” or Priests they have helped in the Church etc. seeking to cause harm to them. Remove the Patient from the source of harm and block the enemies from approaching him and you will  see marked improvement to his condition!

The Patient is agitated, finding fault and creating trouble even you have done your best for him… If the Patient has been making demands on you, talking non-stop and causing you distress, strive to cool down and thank God that at least his mind is working to recover. We were informed that Professionals such as Politicians, their Grassroots' Leaders, Litigation Lawyers, People who always give speeches before a huge audience are more likely to have such symptoms when they developed with Dementia. They used to practise their speeches in secret and now they can only do so before you as they are unable to keep anything secret.  Don’t waste your time to list before him what sacrifices that you have made in taking care of him or ask him to count God’s Blessings, you can only do this when the Patient is “conscious”! Calling out the name of “Jesus” loudly continuously for Him to help your mind to stay calm and later you lay your palms on the Patient and say: “Jesus blesses you”. The powerful name of “Jesus” heals, gives life and breaks every stronghold, if you add on His blessings on the Patient, these words will be “invincible” to heal the Patient and to create Peace and Calm round him... Satan and the evil spirits have induced men (starting from our 1st parents Adam and Eve) to distrust God, making them believe that God will only give them “substandard”, making them sick, curse & kill each other, their evil endeavours have been totally defeated when Jesus came and willingly died on the Cross to save us from Sin and let our spirit men sit in Christ at the “heavenly places” now (cf. Ephesians 1:17-23 & Ephesians 2:3-7)!  Our spirits are just going to humbly sit there, to beg the Holy Spirit to take FULL possession of us, to obey Him always, to bless the People round us until we enter into the Eternal Glory later… How about you?

Rivastigmine

When the Patient is on “Exelon Patch 5” always, you may want to use Exelon Patch 10 only when the Patient has started to exhibit violent behaviour…

This is what we have noted for this case study:

The Patient has always been using Exelon Patch 5 but he started to exhibit violent behaviour around 9 December 2023.  On the 1st day of using Exelon Patch 10 (14 December 2023), the Patient looked peaceful and calm but vomited. On the 4th Day (18 December 2023) of continuous use, the Patient had become violent again, throwing food, scolding & cursing the caregivers and refused to eat and this had lasted and became worse day by day…

The Patient only calmed down when the Patch was changed back to Exelon Patch 5 again on 27 December 2023 and that was the time the appetite was restored and the Patient was able to eat normally.

What the Caregiver is going to do next (given without liability): Only put on the Exelon Patch 10 when Patient’s behaviour is unmanageable and quickly revert back to Exelon Patch 5 when Patient is showing violent behaviour again. With the use of Exelon Patch 10 and adding other Antipsychotic drugs will only make the Patient worse and the damage will likely to be irreversible! (We note that the Doctors may disagree with us but so far this is their ONLY conclusion: Dementia is incurable! Yes, this is their ONLY conclusion after trying all kinds of drugs to heal Patients!

What the Caregiver does to calm the Patient?

Say this Prayer 500 times: “Most Precious Blood of Jesus Christ, save us and the whole World”. You may also add Holy Water into the Patient’s Food & Drink to drive out any evil spirit harassing the Patient causing him to be “abnormal”. These are definitely better and have NO adverse effects on the Patient as compared to letting the Patient consumed any Antipsychotic drugs mentioned above!
